Haunting Activity: While the owners have never had a personal encounter with either of the spirits said to inhabit this property, guests have been reporting their presence for over 30 years. One is a Confederate soldier, while the other is a woman wearing an antebellum gown. The woman may be former owner Elizabeth Duparc Lacoul. Rooms 104, 106 and 216 report the most activity, with more than one guest in 216 claiming to see the woman's spirit materializing out of the wall in a "rippling wallpaper effect."

History: Comprised of three early-1800s townhouses, the heart of this hotel is the main house -- the lavish townhouse of Madame Olivier, a wealthy widow, whose husband was a plantation tycoon. The scene of many Creole society soirees, banquets and gatherings, this mansion has provided warm and gracious hospitality for over a century and a half.
