Haunting Activity: Kotzebue is filled with haunted locations. Cape Krusenstern is a Native American sacred site. Eagles Hall is home to several friendly ghosts. Golden North Hotel is inhabited by two ghosts, one of them nicknamed “Mary.” Mulvinhill House is haunted by the sounds of its previous owner. It is a private residence, but walking tours of the town are available. Red Onion Saloon is a former house of ill repute, built in 1897. Shadowy figures are seen and footsteps are heard. The smell of overpowering perfume is often floating through the air.
